Pictures Painted by Prayer - exhibition of icons
This exhibition, devoted to the images of Our Lady present in the tradition of Eastern Churches, will consist of more than 200 icons. Most of those Mariolatrous icons, loaned from Polish (especially from Lesser Poland), Russian, Ukrainian, Lemko, and Belorussian museums, were produced in 19th-century workshops and are commonly known as Suzdal-Vladimir icons. Among them there is Our Lady Of Kazan, Tolgosk, Mother of God of Vladimir, Smolensk, Tichvin, Ivir, Chernigov, and of Kiev-Pechora, as well as ritual objects, cast-metal figurines, enamels, and jewellery.
